6 Weeks, Our Birthdays, Tyler's Repeat Performance, Likes, & Dislikes

6 WEEKS:
Tyler was weighed yesterday when we went to the Breast Feeding Group and.... (drum roll please..)

WEIGHT: 9 lbs, 5.5 oz!!

He's thinking really hard about something...
My Mommy and Daddy's Birthdays
Happy Birthday to J.D. and me!! We celebrated our birthdays together by doing one of our favorite things...going out to dinner at a new restaurant. We picked Marvin (thanks to Torrey and Jay for the recommendation!)...which was INCREDIBLE!! It's Southern, soul food! The food was cooked perfectly and the service was excellent. For anyone that's planning on trying it, just know that the restaurant is very loud, so if you want to go to a quiet romantic restaurant, this is not the place. But, if you want some fried chicken and waffles or shrimp and grits this is the place for you! (Thanks to Mom and Dad for babysitting for little Ty!)

Repeat Performance
Thanks to all of J.D.'s hard with with Tyler again, he ROLLED OVER AGAIN from his tummy to his back on Monday. This time, he was really mad, so he was pedaling with his feet on his activity mat. The first few times he would get halfway over and then I would give him the little extra push so he knew what it felt like. After about 3 times of doing that, he rolled over all by himself!

What a strong boy!! Way to go Tyler!!!

Georgetown
I had my first trip to Georgetown with Pops...no pictures either :( I got to have lunch at Farmer's and Fishers on the waterfront, eat some cupcakes, and take a walk on M Street. I am love all of the hot spots!

I love to Sing
Tyler and I (along with Jaimee and Shoshana, of course) went to another sing-a long with Mr. Don! He was fabulous and the babies loved it!

New things I'm doing:
  • Drooling (especially when hungry) --only in the last 2 days
  • scooting across activity mat using his legs
  • Getting in the downward dog position on the activity mat when he's mad and/or about to roll over
  • when you hold him up in the air (like an airplane) , he keeps his arms and legs out
  • Rolled over again from tummy to back for 2nd time
  • Will stand on your tummy if you help him balance
  • Puts his arms around your neck
  • Sleeping for 6 hours in a row: two nights this week (from ~ 10 pm-4 am)

New Sounds I'm making: (yes, my mom is a speech-language pathologist, so she's taking notes)
  • uhgee
  • ah-comment
  • nah, neh, ga, geh, gee= hungry cries
  • eh, piecing cry: burp me
  • grunt=trying to poop

Things I like:
morning playtime with daddy
  • being held up on someone's shoulder so I can see
  • Just being held in general
  • Faces
  • Cuddling with Mommy in our pjs
  • My pacifier when I got to sleep
  • When Daddy and Mommy sing to me
  • Stroller walks with Mommy
  • Being held by Daddy in the Baby Bjorn
  • Boobs :) (I'm a boob man, what can I say?)

Things I don't like:
  • Having my arms swaddled (we only swaddle his body from the arm pits down)
  • When I have to poop and I can't
  • When I have to burp and I can't
  • When my pacifier falls out of my mouth when I'm trying to sleep
