Rolling Stone Gathers Tyler Colby & Zachary Bennett Moss: Week 4: Ty's First day at school, Rosh Hashanah Dinner, Welcome Zachary Party

We had a lot going on this past week. It was Tyler's first week of school. He goes, 3 days/week for 3 hours. Last Friday, Tyler got to visit his classroom and play with the toys while Mommy was there.

Monday, Tyler got to go to school for an hour with Mommy. He did great! He loved all of the fun toys. He's SO ready to be in school! Check out the pics:

On Wednesday and Friday, Tyler got to go by himself to school. What a big boy!! We had prepared him by explaining exactly what was going to happen when we dropped him off and when we picked him up. All week, he's been saying "On Monday, I get to go to school with Mommy and on Wednesday I get to go to school by myself because I'm a big boy."

So we walked into school, Tyler hung up his back pack by himself, he grabbed his star with his picture on it (to check in), said hi to Mrs. Chajet and walked into the classroom to play. That's right. No hug or kiss good bye for us. Not even a "goodbye". ..a little bit sad, but it made me happy that he wanted to be there. Apparently he was fine for the first two hours, but cried on and off for the last hour. He said he wanted to wait on the bench outside the school for me and would have been perfectly happy doing that until school ended. Poor guy.

Friday went much better. Again, the same thing for the walking in...no good bye. Apparently at some point in the day he cried for 5 minutes but was perfectly happy the rest of the day! SUCCESS!! Here are pics that his teacher took:

What a sweetie. He's really starting to wake up as a person. He's engaging with you with his eyes. He will coo back at you when you talk to him.
