He's such a happy guy!
6/11/10: Tyler's Hebrew Baby Naming (2 months old)
Tyler's Hebrew name is: Micah Yitzhak (Micah Isaac). His Hebrew name is in honor of his great grandparents Mary (my mom's mom) and Mildred (J.D.'s Dad's mom). He is now named after 4 great grandparents (one from each one of his grandparent's families). He was so well behaved at the temple and slept in the moby wrap at the party afterward. Thanks to everyone for coming! Ty is so loved!
Ty's many visitors:
Ty's Girlfriend Shoshana (6/14/10): 9 weeks
Visiting Daddy at work! (6/16/10)
6/17/10 (9.5 weeks)
Weight: 10 lbs, 7.5 oz
Weight: 11 lbs, 2 oz ( between the 25th-50th percentile)
Length: 22 3/4 inches ( between the 25th-50th percentile)
Head Circumference: 14 3/4 inches (between the 10th and 25th percentile)
Dr. Myers said that Tyler is doing some great catch up growing. He has already grown out of all of his newborn clothes and most of his 0-3 month clothes. He's moving on up to 3 month and 3-6 month clothes!
Dr. Myers says that he has very strong abs (thanks to the 12 sit-ups/day regimen that Daddy has put him on) and deltoids. His neck is also very strong as he looks around, rolls over, and doesn't bobble his head nearly as much. He does look more to the left (due to have slightly more strength in the left side of his neck) than he does to the right, so we are now working hard on looking to the right as well.
Tyler had 3 vaccines:
He did have some body aches and we had to give him some tylenol. He was very unhappy for about an hour (6 hours post vaccine). It's so sad to see such a happy child be so upset. The tylenol worked like a charm!
- HIB, DTaP, Polio
- Pneumococcus
- Rotavirus
Ty is drooling more, which is a great sign!
New sounds:
9 weeks: /k/ sound, diphthongs (/ai/ (eye) etc.)
He is continuing with all of the other sounds that I have mentioned and uses different combinations of them as well!
Ty continues to be a happy, very chill baby. We keep saying how blessed we feel, and hope that this continues!!
Sleep: Ty now sleeps anywhere from 5 1/2-7 3/4 hours in a row! Keep it up Tyler! He is also continuing to follow his schedule very nicely. Because of his happy easy going demeanor, he can fool you into thinking that he doesn't need to sleep, however, after he is awake for an hour (including feeding time), he is ready for his naptime routine (swaddle, book, song, crib) and falls asleep pretty quickly.
Back to work!
I am going back to work very gradually, which has been wonderful. I started 3 weeks ago seeing a couple of kiddos at home, which has been fabulous. This past week, I started 1 day/week in the office. I have missed the kids so much. It was really great to get back. Of course, I missed Ty while I was gone, but I love my job! After a month, I will add another day/week. A month after that (at the end of August) I will add a third day, and this is where I'll stop. I want to get a good mix of working and staying home with Ty!
Weekends with Mom and Dad (6/18/10)
Happy Father's Day (6/20/10): 10 weeks
We celebrated J.D.'s first father's day and my dad and Joel's 27th father's day with a family lunch at our house! (Check out Ty's shirt--it says "Daddy's Allstar")
