(unfortunately, I don't have a weight because I haven't been able to go to the breastfeeding group since I've been working)
Last night was a big night: We decided that it was time for Ty to start sleeping in his own room during the night. He has been taking all of his naps in his crib for the past several weeks now and is a napping champ!
By following Ty's sleep cues (yawning) and knowing that right now, he really should only be awake for 1 hour at a time (including feeding time), we are really able to figure out the best times for him to go to sleep.
With the nap-time routine (swaddle--arms out, turn on sleep sheep water sounds, read a book, sing a song), Tyler takes 80% of his naps perfectly (sometimes goes to sleep right away, sometimes entertains himself--talking quietly, moving his arms and legs-- until he falls asleep)!!
Tyler continues to rarely cry unless he needs something (eat, diaper change, burp, sometimes poop, sometimes want to sleep). As soon as that need is met, he goes back to being the happiest baby.
He's smiling more and more each day. There are so many more purposeful smiles. He's also trying to imitate faces. J.D. is working on him sticking out his tongue and I'm working on him opening his mouth.
New sound last week: /l/ (10 weeks)
Last Tuesday (6/22) was our 2 year wedding anniversary. We went out that night to a low key dinner in Ballston, but on Saturday night Grammy Suzy and Pops babysat. We went out to one of our favorite restaurants: Zaytinya for Mediterranean tapas. Delicious! We love being able to spend time together, just us, as well! We are so lucky to have such great babysitters near by.
