We've had a wonderful week at home. I'm so thankful that J.D. has been able to take 2 weeks of paternity leave! He did have to do some work while he's been home, but it's been amazing to have him home to help us get settled as a family of 4.
In the hospital, Zachary's weight dropped to 7 lbs, 2 oz, but by day 2, his weight was already on the rise at 7 lbs, 3 oz.
At his one week Dr.'s apt, here are the stats:
Weight: 7 lbs, 9 oz (50th%)
Length: 20 in. (55th%)
Head Circumference: 13 1/8 (50th%)
We have spent the week, just enjoying being together as a family, entertaining Tyler, and figuring out Zachary's personality.
Here's what we know so far:
- He's a great eater! I feed him every three hours during the day and then we cluster feed (feed more often) between 7-10ish.
- He's a great sleeper! He's been sleeping from 10 or 11 until 4 or 5 am (usually 5 1/2-6 1/2 hour stretches) and then he goes back to sleep for another 2-3 hours, when I wake him to feed him so that he is on a similar schedule to Tyler (who gets up around 7 am).
- He does not like to have a wet or dirty diaper. ....or even a diaper that is just a tiny bit wet. I think we are changing WAY more diapers than we did with Tyler...unless my memory is failing me.
- He likes it when his daddy burps him.
