My favorite thing about the past year (among many things) is when Tyler says "Mama" so beautifully. Sometimes he says it to call my name in the morning. Other times he says it to make sure I'm looking at him or that I heard him. Other times he says it because he wants to nuzzle his head on my shoulder and give me an open mouth kiss. Either way, I can't think of anything better than hearing "Mama" from my beautiful little boy (who is not so little anymore).
Tyler spent his birthday morning and evening with his mommy and daddy and he spent the middle of his day with Pops, Grammy Susie, Grandma Joanie and Grandpa Rickie....and what a wonderful day he had. Here's a video of Tyler at his birthday dinner talking about how old he is:
We gave Tyler the a bunch of Little People Wheelies (about 15 different cars with people in them). Ty's favorite was the police car /p/. I can't believe he's old enough to play with big boy toys!!
Tyler got the Little People Garage from Grandma Joanie and Grandpa Rickie. What a hit that was!!! Here's Ty trying to help J.D. put it together...
Ty got this basketball hoop from his Aunt Jane and Uncle Bobby when they were out to visit this summer, but he hasn't been old enough until now. While I was at a work conference all day, J.D. and Tyler opened it up and it's now Tyler's new favorite toy!! He keeps saying " ba a ba" (basketball), "ba" (ball and basket), "duh" (dunk), "sot" (shoot). Thank you so much for this wonderful toy!!! Now we just can't wait until he can walk so he doesn't need our help to get to the basket!
We also visited the cherry blossoms this weekend. Unfortunately, we went a little late this year, so they weren't in full bloom, but we still got to have a nice walk around the tidal basin, while Ty screamed "wa wa" for the river water!
