Babymoon to New Orleans!

We had a wonderful Babymoon in New Orleans. Although it rained all day Friday and all day Saturday (6 inches on Saturday alone), it didn't matter to us at all. It was a wonderful weekend of walking, talking, and eating! The rain didn't stop us from spending 3 full days walking all over the city. We just couldn't get enough of the European architecture! We figured out that we probably walk around 20 miles throughout the weekend! ...This was a good thing, considering we also ate lots of greasy, heavy southern food! One of the best thing I ate all weekend was a fried chicken po-boy from Mother's Restaurant! YUM! We also ate at Bayona and at John Besh's Restaurant August for dessert. We liked Bayona the best for sure (thanks for the recommendation Aunt Lori and Uncle Paul!)...much more our style. Wonderful food in a unique setting and not at all stuffy.
We look a break from the cold on Friday and went to Cafe du Monde to have Beignets, hot chocolate and cafe au lait! Delish!!
On Saturday we decided to do something we normally wouldn't do except for the fact that it was raining. We look at bus tour of the city. We learned all about the history of New Orleans and Katrina. The devastation from the hurricane was awful. We've never seen anything like it. All in all, it was a great tour!!

Sunday was in the upper 60s, gray and cloudy, but no rain!!! :) We had lunch with a friend of J.D.'s from college at a very trendy breakfast joint called Stanley's! (I highly recommend the Banana's Foster French Toast!!) After that we continued to walk all over the city for a few hours! Check out the fog:
