Clemyjontri Park and out to dinner at Hill Country Barbecue

This weekend was great...we had absolutely NO plans!!! We've had a really busy summer and it's so nice to finally have a weekend where we had nothing to do. J.D. has had a lot of work too, so Ty and I haven't gotten to spend very much time with him. We decided to devote our weekend to spending time together as a family.

We went out to dinner at Hill Country BBQ....which is supposed to be the best BBQ in the city! It was really fun and really loud (aka, a perfect restaurant to take a toddler). You pick your meat, they cut it right in front of you, pick your sides and bring it back to your table to eat with BBQ sauce. We enjoyed brisket, prime rib, and BBQ chicken along with green bean casserole, sweet potato mash, mac and cheese, and fresh squeezed lemonade. I'm happy to report that Tyler loved it all! Check out his smile faces:

After dinner, we went for a walk around Penn Quarter in DC:
Soon after we woke up this morning, Tyler announced, as he does a lot, "pee pee" and he went into the bathroom and sat on his potty. We decided we would take off his diaper to see if he really would do it, and to our surprise, HE DID! Ty went pee pee on his potty by himself for the first time....and boy did he have to pee!! We were so proud of him. After he was done, J.D. dumped the pee into the toilet and cleaned the little pot. 5 minutes later, we heard Ty in the bathroom. He had taken the little pot out of his potty and opened the toilet lid and put the the pot inside....he was trying to dump the pee in the toilet, just like daddy did. ...pretty funny. Looks like it's time for some toilet lid locks..... (sorry, no pics)

This morning, we made our first (of many, I'm sure) trip to Clemyjontri park in McLean.

This is a park that was originally designed for children with special needs, meaning that most of the equipment is lower to the ground and almost everything has a ramp....in other words...a perfect park for a toddler! It was packed, but we all had a great time!

While we were there, Tyler climbed up some short stairs by himself (standing up)...like a big boy!

Go car go! Beep beep!
Riding the see saw with Mommy
Look at me riding my motorcycle

The yellow school bus was Tyler's favorite!

I truly can't imagine a better weekend!
