Vacation in Aruba-10 1/2 months

Aruba was wonderful!! We had such great family time! Good fun, gorgeous weather, relaxing walks, nice tans, playing in the sand and the pool, and cute baby summer clothes! We are excited for many more family trips to Aruba! Mom and Dad, thanks for sharing your paradise with us!

We stayed at Costa Linda! Check it out:

Tyler was a great traveler! He did pretty well on the plane, although I must admit that 4 1/2 hours on a plane with a 10 month old was quite daunting! Thanks to Aunt Allie and Danny for their help on the plane ride home!

He loved playing the sand (thanks mom for the great sand toys!). He did manage to eat a few fist fulls of sand...but a little sand won't hurt anyone, right? He was a little scared of the ocean (right where the waves hit the sand), but he loved going all the way in (past where the waves break!)....he just loves water! He also played in the baby pool where they have a fountain that he loved putting his hand into!

Ty now has about 40 words that we can understand and his receptive language is growing like crazy! New words he learned in Aruba: bird, water (for his cup, ocean, and pool), sand, shovel, rake, round and round (the wheels on the bus go....), buh-puh (grandpa), gaga (grandma), yay-ya (Aunt Allie), picture book, and phone. He also knows where his toes are! (thanks for working on that Dad!)

He also has started putting 2 words together: "dada f" (daddy phone) and "mama f" (mama phone), "wz at" (what's that?). He has put 3 words together for: "mama wz at" (Mama, whats' that?).

Tyler is able to identify find objects from a field of 6 or more when they are names (i.e., where's the rake? Where's the shovel? Where's Pat the Bunny?

Language development is SO cool!!

He has recently become obsessed with books!! His favorites are: Pat the Bunny (/p/), Where's Baby's Beach Ball (/b/), The Snowy Day (/s/), Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes (/gooz/), and Rhyme A Round.

He also has other favorite items. They are: lights, fans, birds, buses (thanks Grammy Susie for the wonderful Little People Bus!), cars, trucks, and of course, books.

His eating also changed a lot in Aruba. He ate almost NO baby food! Honestly, who would want to eat baby food when you could have sea bass, snapper, mahi mahi, salmon, fresh veggies, beans and rice, potatoes, strawberries, bananas, pears, bread, etc.!! Tyler just ate whatever we were eating! It made it so easy!
