This past week, Tyler has become very aware of his hands. He puts them in his mouth all the time. It wasn't until the last couple of days that he has been able to separate his thumb from the rest of his fist in order to just get his thumb in his mouth. He still doesn't do it consistently, but it happens more and more frequently each day. It is a common occurrence now to see Tyler trying to shove both of his fists in his mouth at the same time. Very funny!! Yesterday, Tyler fell asleep sucking his thumb. He had a hard time napping yesterday because he was so interested in his hands. He would fall asleep and then wake up, realize his hands were there and get all excited about them. It took him almost 45 minutes to fall asleep for his afternoon naps (it usually takes about 5 minutes), but he was quiet the whole time--just talking to himself, looking at and sucking on his hands.
We had so much fun at our 4th of July BBQ. Great friends, delicious food (thanks for grilling, J.D.), corn hole, and of course some good wine and beer. This was Tyler's first of many BBQs to come. Check out the pics:
